Full-grain, extra heavy, hand tooled and finished, high quality men’s leather belt. This is a very rugged and heavy leather belt that will stand the test of time! PLEASE NOTE – YOUR BELT SIZE IS ALWAYS LARGER THAN YOUR PANTS SIZE, TAKE CARE WHEN ORDERING CORRECT SIZE. Leather Belt Features. Extremely thick, heavy 13-15 oz full-grain harness grade leather approx. 4.5-5.5mm or ¼ inch thick. 1.75 inch (44.5mm) width, great with jeans, khakis & tradie/cargo shorts (make sure they have wide belt loops). Removable solid brass or nickel over brass heal buckle – available in four finishes. Hand burnished, smooth rounded edges. Hand tooled, stained and finished. Extended billet (for additional holes if required). Hand made by me in Melbourne, Australia. Leather Belt Specific Details. High Quality, Full Grain Vegetable Tanned Leather. The highest quality leather belts are made of full grained vegetable tanned leather which last much longer and look better with age. Lesser quality belts are made out of cheaper (in grade order) top grain, split and even bonded leather while others are even made out of very cheap and nasty PVC. These tend to last for several years down to 6 months and deteriorate in appearance over time. Full grain leather comes from the top layer of the hide. The skin or surface of the animal remains intact with the leather exhibiting all its natural marks and features. Full grain leather provides maximum strength and durability due to the tightness of its grain while retaining its breathability. It also develops an aesthetically appealing patina over time. These belts are made with high quality, full grain, harness grade, extra heavy vegetable tanned leather. Apart from the type of leather chosen most quality casual belts are made of medium weighted leather 8-9oz. Which I refuse to sell. With poor quality materials and hardware. These can be down to as little as 1.5mm in thickness and usually tear around the buckle and holes or split in half. This belt is made with Full Grain 13-15oz weighted leather which is 5.0-6.0mm approx. This will feel substantial around your waist and will last for decades. Please also note this belt is 44.5mm (1.75inch) in width as opposed to the standard 38mm (1.5 inch) jeans belt. A quick look through a couple of local markets with cheap belts reveals that most belts for sale have there edges left raw. Many are not even dyed and have a somewhat frayed appearance. This minimizes both the labour costs for each belt and consequently the price and overall quality of the product. The edges on my belts are carefully rounded, hand burnished, dyed and then buffed to create a smooth, appealing finish. This also enables you to pull the belt through your keepers or belt loops more smoothly. Belt buckles can be made from a range of materials. Cheaper ones tend to be steel, plated with nickel or brass which often wears away over time or they are not built robustly enough and bend or break. Brass is the material of choice providing aesthetic appeal and strength. All the belt buckles I sell with these belts are the highest quality I can source. They are made of solid brass in a range of finishes and are manufactured to a very high standard. The belt pictured is size 36 in length which means it is 36 inches from the fold in the leather where it attached to the buckle to the centre hole (middle out of five) at the billet end of the belt. Other sizes will be added when crafted. Each size up has a slight increase in cost to cover the extra tooling labour and materials costs. 44+ inch contact for quote. Take a belt you already own and measure from the fold in the leather where the buckle attaches to the hole that you currently use. This measurement will be used to size your new belt.
