This luxurious book is bound in vintage water-buffalo hide and the cover is hand-tooled overall with a’Columbine’ floral design. The colour is a rich mahogany brown. I designed this book as a centre piece for a formal occasion. It would make a fine Guest or Memorial Book, and it would also make a fine Sketchbook or Life Book. The paper is suitable for drawing. Painting and sketching in a wide variety of media. This book has a luxurious and richly tactile quality, but its materials and construction also make it exceptionally tough and durable. The folios of paper are stitched into the leather cover with a traditional’Italian’ stitch – a style of binding that guarantees a long life. I love working with leather, but for ethical reasons I only use vintage leather for my books- ie leather from working animals that have come to the end of their lives. If you wish to use this book as a sketchbook I can supply it with optional pages of handmade cotton paper.
